Introduction : In the past, I have conducted research related to acute and chronic effects of exercise on fitness and response to stress. Current research activities strive to interpret research for fitness professionals and the public, especially related to definitions and recommendations for physical activity, fitness, and health. I am working with Dr. Vernon Bond, Howard University, on the effects of aerobic fitness and family history of hypertension on cardiovascular response to stress.

Introduction : Joan S. Hult (Ph.D. University of Southern California) is a Professor Emerita in the Department of Kinesiology. Her work focuses on sport history, and philosophy of sport. Dr. Hult is one of the foremost sport historians on American women in athletics. She has written and spoken extensively on all aspects of women in sport including governance, the Olympics, basketball, and Title IX issues. She was co-editor of the NAGWS sponsored book: A Century of Women's Basketball: From Fraility to Final Four.
