Financial Support : David H. Clarke Fellowships
David H. Clarke Fellowships
The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Maryland is pleased to announce the availability of the David H. Clarke Fellowships for Fall, 2003. Prospective students with outstanding academic credentials, related research experience, and interest in learning from one of our faculty mentors are encouraged to apply by February 1, 2003. Applications are accepted in 4 broad areas of Kinesiology: exercise physiology, cognitive motor behavior, pedagogy and sport commerce and culture.
Our web site www.hhp.umd.edu/KNES lists the faculty members, expertise, publications and classes under each of the broad research areas. The site also has links to the online application to our Graduate School. Interested applicants should contact potential faculty mentors directly.
The David H. Clarke Fellowship is for 2-years and is supplemented with a guaranteed assistantship for an additional two years, providing at least 4 years of financial support. In addition to a stipend and tuition remission for the academic year, Clarke Fellowships can provide some financial support in the summer. Each fellow will be provided desk space and a computer. The Department will also select at least 2 additional applicants for Graduate School Fellowship competition in February-March. Research assistantships are available through many of our faculty; teaching assistantships for both kinesiology major classes and physical activity classes are also offered by the department.
