Master's Program
University of Maryland Master's Students
The goal of the Master of Arts degree program at the University of Maryland is to prepare students in the core specializations within the field of Kinesiology. Students meet this goal not only through formal coursework, but also through active engagement in research, departmental activities, current research seminars (KNES689 Independent Study), and through encouraging attendance at professional meetings at the state, regional, national, and international levels.
The graduates of our program are expected to have an understanding of Kinesiology as a multifaceted discipline and are expected to develop research, teaching, and presentation skills appropriate to their area of specialization.
We expect that all graduates will be "good citizens" and act effectively in any professional group. With respect to the Graduate Program itself, it is the student's responsibility to remain current with regard to requirements and to complete all required paperwork/forms in a timely manner.
