Interests : An avid exerciser, Irene left her job in the office of the Dean of Libraries to help Chair Jane Clark and Assistant Chair Coke Farmer keep Kinesiology on the move. A native Marylander and a UMCP alum, Irene has a passion for travel, with many miles to go before she sleeps. A returned Peace Corps volunteer, she served in Mozambique as an English teacher from 1999-2001. Although she escaped the mosquito and malaria, she was bitten by the teaching bug and hopes to get her Master's in TESOL.

Duties : Graduate Studies

Interests : Deborah has been coordinating our graduate studies office since 2000. She enjoys working with each student from that first phone call, until they walk across the graduation stage. She cares for each student and with the support of the faculty and staff, she ensures that each student's experience in the department is academically and professionally rewarding, and personally memorable. "Graduate School should be a time when a student can connect with people (faculty and students), who can help them develop into professional researchers, and more well rounded individuals. Every student, has the potential to change our world." Deborah is a history 'guru' and loves learning about people from various cultures.

Interests : Regina is the department's resident chef. She is a professional cook, and the worst thing is that she loves feeding and sharing her delicious dishes with everyone :-).

Interests : Clara just became a new wonderful mother to her new son. She takes care of almost everything in the business office.

Interests : Whitney started in the Business Office last year as a Work Study student. She liked the experience so much that she joined the Department in August in her position of Office Clerk. She is a sophmore, majoring in Kinesiology. A native of Denver, Colorado, she came to Maryland because she likes the state, has family here, and she wanted to get away from home. Her future plans include working toward a DPT in physical therapy. When she isn't involved in the financial workings of the business department and hitting those books, she loves to shop and watch sports on ESPN.

Interests : Joanna enjoys serving and interacting with people. Thats why she came to the front line of cozy and friendly Kinesiology dept. from Smith Business School. If anyone has a question or need to know where to go, ask Joanna! She can direct/re-direct almost everyone. Mother of a boy and a teenage girl loves working with children. Joanna was a Sunday school teacher for past 10 yrs. at her church in Silver Spring and now she enjoys singing with church choir. Joanna is also a musician with a great voice.
