Whether you are a transfer student or a high school senior, you need to understand the application process at the University of Maryland. In addition, if you decide to apply to the University, it is important to know the deadlines for submitting applications. Current Students at UMD: Change of Major

If you are a student already enrolled at the University of Maryland, you must contact your new department in order to change your major.

For those interested in Kinesiological Sciences, please call KNES main office at 301.405.2450 to sign up for a change of major workshop.

Students looking to change their major to Physical Education, please call KNES main office at 301.405.2450 in order to schedule an appointment with Dr. Coke Farmer.

*** In addition, if you are a student who entered the university as a freshman in the Fall of 2005 or after, you are required to develop a 4-year plan. All students must see Erin Thiel or Leanne Thompson in Student Services to approve this 4-year plan. Not until this 4-year plan is on file will your major be changed. Please see one of these advisors in Student Services immediately following the appointment with your new undergraduate coordinator.
