Help Us Set a New Guinness World Record!
 

Join this once-in-a-lifetime experience to promote health equity through the beat of the drum: On Maryland Day, April 26, 2014, the Maryland Center for Health Equity (M-CHE) in collaboration with the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center will recruit 1,400 participants to break the Guinness World Record of the largest hand drum ensemble. The record attempt is based on the current largest hand drum ensemble of 1,331 participants playing dolu drums at an event in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India on May 6, 2012.

College Park, Md. -- April is National Minority Health Month, and the theme for this year is Prevention 
is Power: Taking Action for Health Equity. To celebrate National Minority Health Month, the 
Maryland Center for Health Equity (M-CHE) in the University of Maryland’s School of Public Health 
is inviting the community to join the Health Equity Drum Circle: Drum Beats for Health and 
Wellness, planned to take place at Maryland Day on Saturday, April 26th. more>>>

Event Map & Shuttle Routes

You can cover more ground if you use Shuttle-UM, which runs continuously all day. See our map in the program pdf for bus stops. Board our red and white buses, free of charge, at bus stops along the designated routes. Take the "North Campus" bus for those events located north of Campus Drive, and the "South Campus" bus for those south of Campus Drive. Signage and guides on the bus will help you determine the best stop for a particular event.

Food & Beverage

There are plenty of places to satisfy your hunger. Here's where you can buy something good to eat or drink. All locations proudly serve Pepsi® products. Most locations accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover

First Aid & Safety

A First Aid station is located on McKeldin Mall or you can visit the Health Center. See map in the program pdf (coming soon). In the event of severe weather or imminent danger, campus sirens will sound to signal all on campus to seek shelter in the nearest building.

Restrooms

Restrooms are available in every building on campus and most are open for Maryland Day. Restrooms are marked for your convenience.
