The Greater Washington Latino Mental Health Network

Project Goals

  • To connect clinical masters students to the Latino community and to connect clinicians who are a part of the The Greater Washington Latino Mental Health Network through in-service trainings and conferences.

Service:  Network members advocate for the needs of Latino clients, send announcements about jobs, workshops, group and community activities pertinent to mental health and the Latino community.  Every other year the The Greater Washington Latino Mental Health Network hosts a conference with the Department of Family Science’s Center for Healthy Families.

Research: N/A

Student training opportunities: Masters Students have the opportunity to connect with mental health organizations serving the Latino community in the Washington Metropolitan Area through externships or networking activities

Funding: Profits from the conference are used to provide a college scholarship for a graduate student in the Couple & Family Therapy Program who will dedicate his/her work to the Latino Community.
