(Assistant Professor, MIAEH) received his PhD degree in environmental health sciences in 2004 from Johns Hopkins University and completed postdoctoral training in environmental epidemiology at the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France. He joined the UM in 2007 and has 18 publications. Dr. Sapkota has substantial expertise in the areas of exposure assessment and environmental epidemiology, especially relative to the hazards of indoor air pollution. He also has expertise in traffic exposure assessment and biomarker validation. He has mentored 7 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and last year mentored his first UM STAR Trainee.
