Amy Sapkota, PhDShe joined UM as an Assistant Professor in MIAEH in 2007. She earned her PhD in 2005 from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in environmental health science and completed postdoctoral training in microbial ecology at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Lyon, France. She has 12 publications in the area of environmental health. Her research addresses microbial environmental exposure assessment and epidemiology, focusing on the relationships between environment, food and water production systems, and human infectious diseases. She has mentored a number of graduate students and one post-doctoral fellow. Eleven undergraduates have worked in her UM lab.
