(Professor, Associate Dean for Public Health Initiatives; Associate Director, Center for Health Equity) completed her PhD in health education from UM in 1993 and was then on the faculty of the University of North Carolina and the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health until she joined the UM in 2010. She has >40 publications in the area of racial disparities in health equity. She is PI on a NIH-funded Bioethics Research Infrastructure Initiative: Building Trust between Minorities and Researchers. She has been a mentor to post-doctoral fellows, and master’s and doctoral students with a strong record of mentoring under-represented minority students. At the University of Pittsburgh, she worked to engage minority undergraduates and link them to mentors to enhance their transition to graduate school.
