Dr. Jinhee Kim, PhD 

Dr. Jinhee Kim is an Associate Professor and Family Finance Extension Specialist at the University of Maryland, College Park. She completed her master’s degree in Consumer Studies at Seoul National University, Korea and her doctoral degree at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA. Her research focuses on financial stress, health, and work outcome behaviors of employees. Dr. Kim is the TOGETHER Program’s Associate Director and Principal Investigator. She helped develop the TOGETHER curriculum utilizing her expertise on family financial management and well-being.

Diana Kyu Yacob

Diana is a research assistant with the Department of Family Science and also the Project Coordinator for the TOGETHER Program.  She is a Personal Financial Planning doctoral student and completed her M.S. in Human Services and Family Studies with a concentration in Personal Financial Planning at Kansas State University and earned her B.S in Family Studies from the University of Maryland.  

Sam Allen

Sam is a second year Family Science doctoral student. He completed his M.S. in Couples and Family Therapy from The University of Maryland, wherein his master's thesis explored the emotional wellbeing of mothers of transgender and gender nonconforming children. Sam's research interests broadly include LGBTQ families of various permutations, particularly those from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Outside of school, Sam works part-time in a private practice as a licensed couple and family therapist.
