How can I set up an appointment with an advisor to discuss the Family Science major?

The Family Science department is currently in the process of hiring a new full-time Academic Advisor. For questions about courses, registration, or your academic plan please visit the Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) in SPH0222 during their walk-in hours: Fridays from 10-noon.

Does the department have walk-in advising?

The Family Science department is currently in the process of hiring a new full-time Academic Advisor. Students can visit the Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) in SPH0222 during their walk-in hours, Friday from 10-noon, for questions about courses or registration.

Can I minor in Family Science?

Our department currently does not offer a minor in Family Science. The required coursework for the major is 45 credits, which many students can complete in addition to another major.

What are the requirements for a double major in Family Science?

In order to double major in Family Science, you must complete the 45 credits of required coursework in Family Science in addition to the requirements of your primary major. Some of those 45 Family Science credits will overlap with your primary major credits if your primary major is Psychology, Criminology and Criminal Justice, or Sociology. You can count these overlapping credits toward the requirements of each major.

What do I need to do if I want to enroll in another institution during the summer?

For an exception to policy you can fill out the Exception to Policy Request Form located on the Center for Academic Success and Achievement website.
