The Herschel S. Horowitz Center for Health Literacy conducts interdisciplinary research in health communication and health literacy before translating the research findings into education, recommendations, policy proposals and community action.

On April 25th, 2018, the Horowitz Center for Health Literacy will convene a Health Literacy Huddle: A dialogue on health literacy in Maryland to share preliminary findings on health literacy activities and opportunities in the state. The Horowitz team will report on the environmental scans and key informant interviews they've conducted in Maryland's 24 counties during Spring 2018. The goal of the Huddle is to initiate a state-wide dialogue on health literacy best practices for future programs and services and steps toward Maryland as a health-literate state.

The program will last between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. And lunch will be served between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m.

The event is free, but registration is required.
