MIAEH's coffee hour and seminar: Parabens and Asthma Morbidity Among Children with Asthma in the U.S. General Population
The Maryland Institute of Applied Environmental Health welcomes Lesliam Quiros-Acala, an assistant professor at the Maryland Institute of Applied Environmental Health to its weekly coffee hour and seminar for graduate students on Friday, April 21, 2017. She will give a talk on her research, “Parabens and Asthma Morbidity Among Children with Asthma in the U.S General Population.”
Parabens are a series of parahydroxybenzoates or esters of parahydroxybenzoic acid, which are effective preservatives widely used in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. These synthetic preservatives could cause adverse health outcomes in children such as asthma. Dr. Lesliam Quiros-Acala will provide in-depth insight as a public and global health concern.
