April 7, 2006: The Center on Aging and the College of Health and Human Performance hosted a "Childhood Obesity Summit" as part of the Health and Society Theme Series.

March 9, 2006: The Legacy Leadership Institutes received the honor of one of the nations top "Promising Practices" in civic engagement activities for older adults by the National Council on Aging's RespectAbility Program. The award was presented at the Annual Joint Conference of the National Conference on Aging and the American Society on Aging. Click here to read more.

December 12, 2005: The Legacy Corps for Health and Independent Living based at the Center on Aging will be presented with The 2005 Award for Excellence in Program Innovation by the Archstone Foundation and The Gerontological Health Section of The American Public Health Association. This award is presented annually in recognition of best practice models in gerontology and geriatrics to a program that innovatively links academic theory with applied practice in the field of public health and aging.
