In a meeting organized by legislators and environmental justice advocates to discuss food access in the Curtis Bay region of Baltimore, Dr. Sacoby Wilson, assistant professor at the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health and Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, makes the point that Curtis Bay’s lack of access to fresh food is just one of the issues it faces. The region was also ranked the most toxic in the county in 2009 due in part to heavy industrial pollution.
