Doctoral student Laura Drew wins multiple awards
Third-year Maternal and Child Health doctoral student Laura Drew was awarded not one, not two, but three awards recently. On April 3, the School of Public Health hosted the sixth annual Public Health Research Day. At this event, Laura was awarded second and third place for two of her picture presentations after attendees chose winners from among the student entries.
Laura was also awarded the Graduate School’s Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award for 2018 for the School of Public Health. This honor goes to the top 2 percent of campus graduate assistants in a given year.
"I am incredibly grateful for receiving these awards,” Laura says. “Through my assistantships, I have been able to contribute to different research projects with various faculty members and mentor many undergraduate students. Watching students develop a passion and sense of purpose in their undergraduate studies has been an incredibly rewarding experience."
