Dr. Epstein to be inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa
Family Science Professor Dr. Norman Epstein has been chosen for membership in UMD's chapter of the national leadership honor society Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK). He was nominated by Family Science graduate Liz Brown and PhD student Sam Allen, both student members of ODK. ODK recognizes members of the faculty and student body who have attained high standards of efficiency and inspire others to strive for conspicuous attainment along similar lines.
Dr. Epstein is widely recognized as a leader in the field for his development of cognitive-behavioral couple and family therapy. He has been a member of the UMD Family Science faculty for 34 years. As part of the induction ceremony, Dr. Epstein's name will be engraved on the ODK fountain on McKeldin Mall.
When asked about his decision to nominate Dr. Epstein, Sam had this to say: "Between Norm's international distinction in the field of couples therapy, staunch commitment to his advisees, and decades of service he has provided both to the department and to the university, we couldn't think of a more deserving faculty member for induction into ODK. We look forward to having his name inscribed adjacent to ours on the mall's fountain!"
