NCFR research has contributed to family-friendly policy both in the public and private sectors. The body maintains academic guidelines and curriculum standards for Family Science degree programs and Family Life Educator credentialing.
A member of NCFR since 1975, Dr. Leslie has previously served as an annual conference program chair and on the editorial boards of the Journal of Marriage and Family and Family Relations. She has served as chair of the Feminism and Family Studies Section and on the NCFR Board of Directors twice.
Dr. Leslie will assume her position at this fall’s NCFR 2017 Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.
“NCFR has been my professional home since I was a graduate student," Dr. Leslie said. "I am very honored to be elected to lead the organization and hope to be able to further its position as an organization promoting evidence based advocacy for the health and well-being of all families, particularly those who are marginalized.”
