Fourth year doctoral candidate Anthony Kondracki presents his doctoral research in China
Last May, fourth year Maternal and Child Health doctoral student Anthony Kondracki visited the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the School of Public Health at Anhui Medical University in Hefei, China to present his doctoral research. He was invited by Dr. Fangbiao Tao, PhD, Professor and Chair of the Department, whose interest is in reproductive health. Tony presented his current doctoral research on the prevalence and patterns of smoking during pregnancy at a symposium organized by Anhui University, briefly touching on the issue of passive smoking exposure among pregnant women which is more prevalent in China. His presentation was very well received by the faculty and students who had many questions and requests for future collaborations.
Tony expressed he “really enjoyed meeting with undergraduate and graduate students, exchanging views on common goals and challenges that public health faces worldwide, and linking people together.” “Their hospitality was amazing! I found this visit an extremely enriching and a rewarding experience. In addition, it was a great opportunity to visit some historic places like the Great Wall of China and Tiananmen Square,” Tony said.
Tony hopes to continue his future partnership with researchers at the MCH Department of Anhui University School of Public Health.
