This article features a new study by SPH Department of Health Services Administration’s Dr. Andrew Fenelon, which indicates that public housing has a positive effect on people’s health. “This income boost people are getting through housing assistance can free up scarce resources to be spent on other things,” said Andrew Fenelon, an assistant professor at the University of Maryland’s School of Public Health and one of the paper’s authors. “We haven’t had [before] this clear evidence that these housing assistance programs … actually lead to improved health.”
