Kinesiology Alumnus Kwak ('09) Receives NASSM Research Fellow Award
Dae Hee Kwak, Ph.D. ('09), received the 2014 North American Society for Sports Management (NASSM) Research Fellow Award. He obtained his Ph.D. in kinesiology from the School of Public Health in 2009, with Professor Stephen R. McDaniel serving as his advisor.
Kwak, a sports management assistant professor at the University of Michigan, accepted the award at the NASSM conference, which was held May 27-31 in Pittsburgh. The Research Fellow designation honors achievement in sports-related scholarship and is intended to "encourage high standards of research and other forms of scholarship" amongst NASSM members.
In addition to accepting the award, Kwak served as the advisor for two presentations at the conference, "Influences of Athlete's Transgression in Endorsement Context: Effects of Transgression Type and Functional Fit," and "Sports Consumer Response to Negative Publicity: The Moderating Effect of Publicity Type and Commitment Level."
