SPH Kicks off Alumni Networking Events
SPH Alumni enjoyed a lively discussion and update on school activities from Dean Jane Clark at the First Annual Lunch with the Dean on Friday, June 24. Alumni from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC met in Alexandria at the Virtue Feed and Grain restaurant. Dean Clark discussed new developments in the School’s undergraduate and graduate student programs, the vision for the Fearless campaign, including the four new centers being planned, including on in Global Public Health, Public Health Innovation, Healthy Aging and Healthy Futures for Children. Alumni gave us feedback on how to improve our outreach efforts and as we learn more about Alumni interest, we will expand our opportunities for you to become more involved.
There are several more opportunities to connect with fellow alumni and SPH leaders, including the First Annual Breakfast with the Dean in Annapolis in July (date TBD). In addition, we will be hosting similar events to give alumni the opportunity to connect with our SPH department chairs (Kinesiology, Family Science, Behavioral & Community Health, Epidemiology/Biostatistics, Health Services Administration). Our locations and dates are being finalized and seating is limited so to indicate your interest, please email Alesha Garvin, Development Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And, we hope you will join us this fall for an Alumni Networking Event on September 29, 2016 from 4-6 pm (location TBD) and the SPH Alumni Homecoming Tailgate on Saturday, October 1, 2016 when the Terps play Purdue.
