Americans are the fattest people in the world, according to this WalletHub round-up of information and expert advice. "By one measure, more than 70 percent of the U.S. population aged 15 and older is overweight or obese," the article states. "But such a finding should come as no surprise, considering the proliferation of fast-food establishments and increasingly cheaper grocery items that have negatively altered our diets." Roberts, assistant professor in the School of Public Health’s Department of Kinesiology points out another distressing research finding: obesity has been found to be correlated with fewer years of school completion and decline in grade point average. Roberts also lists several practical, thrifty tips for losing weight and feeling great without breaking the bank.
