Biography

Dr. St. Jean’s work focuses on people’s health-related information behaviors and the important interrelationships between their health-related information behaviors and their health behaviors. More specifically, she will be uncovering the full range of causes and impacts of incognizance (i.e., not being aware that you are in need of information about a particular topic).

Her long-term goal is to make novel contributions to information behavior theory while simultaneously developing grounded strategies that we can implement as information professionals to help to mitigate incognizance before it results in potentially disastrous consequences for the individual’s health.
