The Teen Pregnancy and Parenting Research Group conducts research that focuses on teen pregnancy prevention, and interventions to support the health and well-being of teen parent families.
The Global Health Initiative will coordinate and better inform about current and future service, research, and educational opportunities related to global health across campus, all which will be interdisciplinary and practical. Ongoing activities and programs include the Global Public Health Scholars program, Public Health Without Borders and a Global Health Certificate program.
At the THINC lab, we are concerned with placing Technologies of Health IN Context. More specifically, we seek to better understand the wide range of technologies that are commonplace in our health and fitness experiences as we seek to monitor, assess and advance our health.
This partnership's goal is to improve the health of Seat Pleasant residents, and to enhance learning and research for students and faculty of the University of Maryland. These goal will be achieved by students and faculty providing health education services to Seat Pleasant residents that might not otherwise be available.
The Young Adult Drug Involvement Research Assessment (YADIRA) Lab focuses on racial and ethnic health disparities in substance use and dependence, specifically tobacco and marijuana use among urban youth and young adult populations.
