The Qualifying Examination must be taken within the semester the student is first eligible. Students must pass all sections of the In-School and Take-Home examination before beginning the 15 credits of individualized research, and before advancement to candidacy and commencement of dissertation research. The Graduate Studies Director must have approved a completed program of study signed by the student's advisor before the Qualifying Examination.
