Thursday, March 2, 3:15 pm - 4:30 pm

Mr. Aranthan Jones II, Chief of Staff at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Inc. will meet with faculty, staff, and students, and give a “policy 101” talk with specific examples of how one can address health disparities and health equity given the rapidly changing political climate. Practical basics will include what we can do, who to talk to, how to talk to them, crafting a message, what words to avoid, and other strategies. Mr. Aranthan (AJ) Jones is widely recognized as a public policy leader, strategist, communicator and a trailblazer in forming public private partnerships.

Earlier this month, Dean Lushniak shared with our school that we now have an "opportunity to make a difference through our shared commitment to the values of public health to improve public health." Indeed, many of our faculty, staff and students have expressed a desire to learn more about what they can do to advance health equity given the rapidly changing political climate, and this presentation will address some of those concerns.
