Family Science Research Assistant Professor, Dr. Stephanie Grutzmacher's project, Text2BHealthy has been named a best practice program by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Agency. Text2BHealthy is a text-message-based program that reaches the parents whose children receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) in the classroom. These messages provide parents with relevant and actionable tips that they can use to improve their child's nutrition and physical activity. Text2BHealthy is the first text-message-based program approved by USDA FNS for use in SNAP-Ed programs.
