Horowitz Center for Health Literacy Seeks Doctoral Assistant - Fall 2020

Application requirements: The candidate must first be admitted to a University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) School of Public Health (SPH) doctoral program before applying for the position. We will consider students with demonstrated prior education and experience in health literacy, health communication, health journalism, or science communication. Health policy students with a strong interest in policies and organizations that foster patient-centered care may also be considered.
Setting and responsibilities: The UMD Horowitz Center for Health Literacy seeks an admitted SPH doctoral student with a strong interest in health literacy research to help
- recruit, screen, and enroll participants
- draft study materials
- draft and test health messages and materials
- collect, organize, and analyze data
- draft reports, presentations, and manuscripts
Term and location: The position is 20 hrs/per week and starts in the Fall 2020 semester. The candidate will work onsite in College Park, MD.
Additional information: The position includes tuition remission and participation in the faculty/staff health benefits program. Only students enrolled in a UMCP SPH doctoral program are eligible for the position. Funding is confirmed for 2 years, with a strong likelihood of continued funding.
