The UMD School of Public Health 2013-2014 Grand Rounds lecture series focuses on public health innovation. On March 7, Dr. Lori Melichar gave a Public Health Grand Rounds lecture titled "Investing in Ideas: Creating a Culture of Health through Discovery, Exploration and Learning." Dr. Melichar is a labor economist and senior program officer in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Research and Evaluation Unit. She is currently serving as the interim team director of the Pioneer Portfolio at RWJF. Since joining the Foundation, Dr. Melichar has managed several programs to help create a well-trained health care workforce. She is also engaged in the Foundation's efforts to advance the science of quality improvement (QI) research and evaluation. Watch Dr. Melichar's lecture below:
