Hand-washing in Sierra Leone

December 13, 2017

Less than ten days to go on our Public Health without Borders UMD Launch Campaign and we're more than halfway there! Help this incredible organization reach its $10,000 goal to support student travel and scholarships. PHWB is dedicated to improving health outcomes globally through sustainable health education initiatives. Teams of students travel to implement health education workshops through ongoing partnerships with communities in Peru, India, and Sierra Leone. These projects have focused on first aid, stress management, nutrition, prevention of infectious diseases, oral hygiene, hand washing, and oral rehydration therapy for diarrheal diseases. PHWB advisor Dr. Lis Maring will travel with a team of undergrads and grads in January to develop a new partnership with a primary school and an organization that addresses violence against women. Thanks for your generosity!
