On Monday, June 9, 2008 the Washington Post featured a story on the successful joint partnership between the University of Maryland School of Public Health with Seat Pleasant Maryland, a lower income community that understands health care disparity. As the Post notes, one of the keys to the program's success is that after approaching skeptical community leaders who had seen well-intentioned university programs come and go, our faculty and students remain committed to the program and the residents 10 years later.
