Dr. Andrew McCarty oversees the School of Public Health technology infrastructure and is responsible for managing large, mission-critical projects. Dr. McCarty provides consultancy for technology initiatives and delivers trainings on topics including strategic issues related to technology and toolset usage.
Dr. McCarty’s research background focuses on enhanced adult training and workplace learning, advanced techniques to measure training outcomes, and patterns of successful technology deployment in achieving organizational objectives. Domain expertise includes servers, networking, database, mobile computing, enterprise systems, encryption/security, cloud resources, project management, workflow engineering, and process optimization.
Dr. McCarty’s previous experience includes serving in senior technology and management consulting roles with premier consulting firms for clients including many government, nonprofit, and private sector organizations. Andrew is a double alum of UMCP, with master’s and doctoral degrees from the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Physics from St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
