Biography
Daniel Park is a post-doctoral research associate at the Horowitz Center for Health Literacy in the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland. Dr. Park earned his Ph.D. in Health Communication and M.A. in Applied Communication from Indiana University. Dr. Park’s research interests include assessing the utility of electronic health (eHealth) and mobile health (mHealth) technologies and communication intervention to promote technology use for those with limited health literacy. For his dissertation study, Dr. Park provided a smartphone medication reminder app training to middle-aged to older adults with chronic conditions to help them find the app to be useful and usable to support their medication adherence. His future research interests include helping older adults, family members, and health professionals better understand and use eHealth and mHealth technologies and build a support network where they work together in empowering older adults in healthcare.
