Debbie is a second year PhD student in Maternal and Child Health. Originally from Boston, she came to the University of Maryland from Children’s National Health System in DC, where she spent 15 years as the program director of IMPACT DC (“Improving Pediatric Asthma Care in the District of Columbia”). In this role, she enjoyed working on a broad range of initiatives to improve asthma outcomes among underserved children. She is interested in child health disparities, and in building the evidence base for strategies to improve health outcomes across the lifespan. At the University of Maryland, Debbie has worked with the Mental Health and Reproductive Health and Choices (MARCH) study, as well as the Maryland Infant Mortality Study. Debbie spends most of her free time hanging around Takoma Park with her husband and two kids (ages 5 and 9).
