Meir Lewin is from Rockville, Maryland, and is a PhD student in Physical Cultural Studies, department of Kinesiology. Meir received his B.A. in Government from the Interdisciplinary Center of Herzliya, in Israel, and his M.A. in English, from Washington College, where he also served as an assistant coach for the men's soccer team. While living in Israel, he competed in the Israeli soccer league, for Hapoel Herzliya (2007-2011).
Under the guidance of Dr. David Andrews, Meir will continue to pursue interests in physical culture. General areas of interest include contextualizing Israeli society through sport, and soccer as an important, defining, agent within the region (politics, religion, and conflict).
