Stefania Gheorghiu is a first year Ph.D. student from Baltimore, Maryland. She received her B.A. in Psychology and French Studies from Smith College, and her M.S. in Couple and Family Therapy from University of Maryland. Stefania is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works primarily with couples and individuals. Her primary research interests center on mental health in immigrant families and asylum seekers, and include the implementation and assessment of trauma informed practice in community programs aimed at helping these individuals and families. In her free time, Stefania enjoys playing tennis, reading, cooking, petting puppies, and spending time with family and friends.
