This project focuses on understanding gambling behaviors in young adulthood, with specific emphasis on their relationship with excessive drinking, substance abuse, and mental health problems. The report resulting from this project will accomplish three main objectives:
Systematically review and summarize the existing research literature on gambling among college students and other young adults
Present the results of analyses of already existing longitudinal data from the NIDA-funded College Life Study (CLS) to describe the nature and extent of gambling activities among a large sample of young adults recently in college
Translate findings from the preceding review and analyses into policy-relevant information and recommendations
