Ed Notari is the Director of Epidemiology in the Transfusion Safety and Surveillance department at the American Red Cross. Ed received his BA in Biochemistry from Temple University and his MPH from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. He has been with the Red Cross for 37 years. He has numerous publications and has been part of several large multi-center research programs while there. His team of outstanding researchers includes four members with MPH degrees, one of whom has her MD, and a fifth member with a master’s degree in biophysics. His group’s main focus is on infectious disease epidemiology, longitudinal research, and cohort studies. All with the aim of a safer and more adequate blood supply.

The presentation will cover core processes and principles in everyday work on studies and projects that help keep the blood supply safe.
