Before the big game, view the 2024 Homecoming "Beyond the Field" address from SPH Assistant Clinical Professor Tiara Fennell, clinic director for the Center for Healthy Families! Join this panel discussion on building connections for better mental health, hosted by Dr. Mia Smith-Bynum, chair of the Department of Family Science.

Moderator Dean Boris Lushniak will hear from experts across SPH, including Fennell, as they share tips and resources to improve mental health and build community.

About this year's Beyond the Field address: Mental health isn't something we should ever tackle alone. Whether it’s through a kind word, a shared experience, or simply being present, the connections we build can significantly impact our mental well-being. In the 2024 Beyond the Field address, Tiara Fennell shares how you can bring this into your daily life and create meaningful change for your own mental health and beyond.

Researchers at the University of Maryland are tackling the grand challenges of our time, from climate change to systemic racism to global health. Homecoming’s Beyond the Field lecture goes off the gridiron and into the classroom to showcase our faculty’s impactful work.
