This talk will present two studies to address this knowledge gap by exploring the impact of inclusive educational strategies on the well-being of LGBTQI+ students across different European countries. The first study used data from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights to evaluate whether the presence of inclusive national educational policies is associated with more positive adjustment, better school experiences, and less harassment among LGBTI youth. The second study used data from the FREE project to evaluate whether the levels of inclusivity of teachers toward LGBTQI+ issues, the quality of LGBTQI+ representation in classroom discourse, and the availability of comprehensive sexual education were associated with lower levels of depression, generalized anxiety, and suicidality among LGBTQI+ students. The discussion will include future research directions in relation to the roles involved in homophobic bullying.
