Mondawmin Community Partnership

Home Mondawmin Community Partnership

The purpose of this project is for TouchPoint Baltimore to identify and understand how their services can fit into the identified needs of the surrounding Mondawmin community. TouchPoint Baltimore’s mission is to nurture collaborations across Baltimore by developing personal connections to ensure everyone is lifted up. To do this, they strive to empower their communities and neighbors. One goal of TouchPoint is to promote the public health of the greater Mondawmin community. TouchPoint Baltimore has invited the University of Maryland (UMD) School of Public Health (SPH) Office of Public Health Practice & Community Engagement (OPHPCE) to participate in a community-driven approach to defining the needs and strengths of public health in Mondawmin. The OPHPCE will provide student, faculty, and staff support to TouchPoint Baltimore around three primary goals: identifying the needs and strengths of the surrounding Mondawmin community, understanding the role that TouchPoint could fill in the identified needs, and coming up with community-driven and evidence-based approaches to promoting public health, including the social determinants of health and housing, in Mondawmin.

Current Project Status

The project official got underway on July 1, 2025. We are now in the process of recruiting community advisory team members in collaboration with the Greater Mondawmin Coordinating Council.
