How do flamingos stand and sleep on one leg? Join Dr. Young-Hui Chang, Professor of Biological Sciences at Georgia Institute of Technology, on October 20 to find out. As part of the Department of Kinesiology Phillips Lecture, Dr. Chang will explore the biomechanics of how flamingos are able to accomplish this amazing feat. He will also discuss how using the lens of comparative biomechanics provides a window into the nervous system and its control of movement with implications for both fundamental science and clinical rehabilitation.
