Race, History and Rock Creek: Nature as Healing

5:30 to 7 p.m.
Snow covering a creek, rocks and trees.

Location: Virtual

During personal and national tragedies and social unrest, many people look to nature for respite, reflection and renewal. Associate Professor Jennifer D. Roberts joins Ana Ka’ahanui of Capital Nature and Brenda Richardson of Friends of Oxon Run to explore how Rock Creek can restore mental and physical health and how that intersects with race, given the legacy of biophobia and access issues. Coordinated by the Rock Creek Conservancy.
