SPH Town Hall in Solidarity with Ukraine

1:00 PM — 2:00 PM EST
We Stand With ukraine

Location: Online - Zoom

We in public health know that war is a manmade disaster that affects the physical and mental wellbeing across all borders. War destroys health infrastructure, health advancement and the capacity for health systems to respond to health consequences of violence and its rippling effects.

The acts of aggression perpetrated by Russia against Ukraine are an effort to disregard global agreements and democratic processes that honor boundaries, cultures and histories and support peace. These attacks have created a humanitarian crisis, threatening and harming innocent populations and separating families.

Join the School of Public Health for a virtual town hall where our school, campus and community partners can gather in solidarity against war and discuss how we can support impacted members of our community and efforts to end the crisis in Ukraine.

If you would like to express how you are feeling, share a message of solidarity or support, or reflect upon how an experience of your own connects you to this current conflict, please email sphdean@umd.edu; comments will be compiled to share with our community.
