School of Public Health Mission
To promote and protect the health and well-being of the diverse communities throughout Maryland, the nation, and the world through leadership and collaboration in interdisciplinary education, research, practice, and public policy.
Goal 1: Provide outstanding undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs within a rigorous, active, and supportive learning environment.
Goal 2: Conduct high-quality research and scholarship on urgent and emerging issues in public health, and disseminate and apply products of scholarly activities to teaching, practice, and community engagement.
Goal 3: Engage with and learn from communities in Maryland and beyond through research, education, service, outreach, and sustainable partnerships to advance the public’s health, and provide timely, high-quality workforce training and career development to support the public health workforce.
Goal 4: Strengthen and build upon the infrastructure and programs essential to continue to grow as a contemporary and competitive accredited School of Public Health.
Goal 5: Ensure excellence among and provide strong social and infrastructure support for a diverse and empowered student, staff, and faculty body.
