Location: Virtual

Dr. Stephen Thomas, professor of health policy and management, will be a panelist at this White House event.

The gap in primary series COVID-19 vaccination rates between Black and Latino/Hispanic adults and white adults has significantly closed, and deaths have declined by nearly 90 percent in Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. Many organizations and individuals have contributed to this historic proof of concept for how longstanding inequities can be overcome at a large scale. Many coalitions have been built, many new approaches tested, many lessons learned.

Despite the tremendous progress that has been made by a collective effort to protect and uplift the hardest-hit and highest-risk communities from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still more work to do. Continuing the commitment to centering equity in the COVID-19 response, the White House is joined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to host this summit.
