Amanda Grimes recently joined the School of Public Health as its Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration. Prior to joining the School, she served as the Executive Director of Administration for Biology and Director of Administration and External Affairs for the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center (SESYNC) at the University of Maryland, as well as a similar role for the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science – Chesapeake Biological Laboratory. She brings experience in finance, business operations, grants management, and human resources. She also managed diverse programs for capital projects, public outreach, and government affairs and served as a University Representative on the USM Women’s Forum.
Prior to joining the university system, she worked in the financial and information systems technology fields as a Vice President for Bank of America, Director for First Data Investor Services Group, and Assistant Vice President for Fifth Third Bank. In these roles, she served as a national account relationship manager in the capital markets arena.
Amanda received her BA in Economics and History from Centre College and her MBA from the University of Maryland, University College.
