The USPHS Commissioned Corps, one of the eight uniformed services of the United States, works on the front lines of public health. Our medical, health and engineering professionals fight disease, conduct research, and care for patients in underserved communities across the nation and throughout the world. In recent years, the USPHS Commissioned Corps has deployed in support of numerous natural disasters (i.e., Hurricanes Sandy, Harvey, Maria, and Irma, etc.) and public health emergencies (i.e., H1N1 pandemic, Ebola Crisis 2014-15, and the COVID-19 pandemic). This talk will discuss career opportunities and pathways into the Commissioned Corps.
